We know that the Beer-To-Go procedures seem to be different for every brewery so we're here to help answer some common questions that we receive!
What do you have available for Beer-To-Go?
We have a wide array of selections available for each of our products. To see what's available, click on the beer that you're interested in, and look for the drop down menu for the various available formats. You can choose from individual cans, packs, cases, crowlers, and growlers.
We even have Build-Your-Own packs and case options available! Look for the BYO product options towards the end of the beer list. To make your selection, indicate your choices in the Notes section of the shopping cart. If you choose Pick Up at checkout, you can go ahead and make your selection at the time of pick up. Otherwise, a staff member will reach out to you directly to get your customized beer order.
What options are available to me if I want to buy beer?
We have three different options that you can choose from! We offer a Taproom pick-up option, a Local Delivery option, and a CA shipping option.
What is the Taproom pick-up option?
If you select this option at checkout, you'll be able to pick up your order from our Taproom location (262 2nd Street, Oakland CA 94607) at any time during normal business hours: Tues-Sun 12pm-7pm. Orders are usually ready approximately 15 minutes after the order is placed. Any order placed outside of normal business hours will be ready the following business day. Please bring a photo ID for pickup- the name on the ID must match the name on the order, please.
What is the Local Delivery option?
This option will be available at checkout for all those with an Oakland, Berkeley, Emeryville, Piedmont, and San Leandro zip code. Our delivery drivers are out on Thurs-Sun between 12pm-5pm. If you place your order before 3pm we can ensure same day delivery. Any order placed after 3pm or on a non-delivery day will be delivered on the next delivery day.
By law, we cannot leave beer on your doorstep, unfortunately. We must check your ID at the time of delivery, and the name on the ID must match the name on the order. We want to make sure, however, that your order is delivered when it's convenient for you so if you'd like to request a specific delivery day/time, please indicate your preference in the Delivery Instructions box.
What is the CA Shipping option?
If you're outside of our Local Delivery zip codes and want your beer delivered, we now offer CA shipping! Simply select GSO Ground from the shipping option at checkout.
We ship all of our beer via GSO with next day delivery to ensure that the beer arrives fresh on your doorstep. All orders placed Sunday-Wednesday will be shipped out the following day. Because GSO does not offer weekend delivery, if you place your beer order on Thursday-Saturday, your order will be shipped out on Monday.
Are all your beers available for CA Shipping?
All of our canned products and merch are available for CA shipping. Crowlers, growlers, bottles, and guest cans/bottles are not available for CA shipping. If you have one of these items in your shopping cart when you check out, it will remove the CA shipping option from the checkout page.
Can I order growler fills online?
Unfortunately, not at this time. The growler options listed for each draft selection is including the new, amber growler. If you'd like to refill a growler, head on down to the Taproom and one of our friendly Beertenders will be more than happy to help you out!
What is the Oakland United Beerworks' VIP BeerText Club?
The VIP BeerText Club is a shop-by-text membership powered by Textual. It's free to join and there's absolutely no obligation to buy. You sign up to receive exclusive deals and discounts not available online or in the Taproom. These deals are sent to you as a text message once a week and you simply have to reply to the text to place your order! After that, your order will be ready for you to pick up at the Taproom at your earliest convenience.
